Research Assignment
http://www.womenshealth.org/a/women_men_sports.htm
Author’s credentials: Works with women fitness and health
Claim: Why do women not perform as well at sports as men do?
Support: -The study points that myths about the female body were quite
common until recently.
-Anatomists have begun to stress the differences between the male
and female body.
Warrants: -Women were actively warned by their physicians not to engage in
exercise.
Summary:
It is a scientific fact that most females are not as athletic as a male. Strength in muscle and physical abilities are not the only reason of this fact. Anatomists found that the female body is merely regarded as a weaker less efficient, from a male. Another thing that gives a male the upper hand is that a male has been actively exercising and engaged in sports as long as men existed. Women have a lot of ground to cover to make up for lost time.

Letter to my Doubters
Thank you, not only for the motivation but also the attention that was spent on me to help me get where I am today. For years you have tried to hold me back, but through it all I still find a way to keep trucking. Your goal is to keep me down and miserable. I will not let you succeed. In you mind I will not amount to anything, but I am here to challenge you and prove you wrong. I am writing this letter to let you know that you have failed and I will do something with my life.
Sincerely,
Quentin
Letter to my Supporters
I would like to start by saying thank you. I thank you for letting me another day and making is this far. I thank you for keeping me focus on my work and working on my goal to be successful. You have put me through and brought me out of many problems and I am grateful. You put me through the problems to help me learn from my mistakes and to mold me into a man. You are the reason I stand here today. If it were not for you putting my parents on this Earth I would have never been thought of. You had a plan for me from day one, and you made it up to me to follow that plan. I thank you for always loving me and being with me through the thick and thin.
Love,
Quentin
A list of things I would change about myself
- My temper- I have a very quick temper and it does not take much to make me mad. Pray on my temper almost every night, I do not want my quick temper put me in a bad situation.
- My height- I am 5'10 , but I wish I was 6'1 or 6'2.
letter to my haters
First of all, I would like to thank you for actually taking out the time to pick me out of the many people in the world to be the person that proves that despite what you say, I am going to be somebody important and essential in the world. Because of you, I can say that God has a purpose for even those who look like there is no hope. At first, I started to believe what you used to tell me and it showed at first in what I did, but then I realize it says in Philippians 4:13 that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. So whatever plan you tried to come up with to make me give up and not believe in myself, it did not work. I am not down and out; I am still standing with my head held high and almost ready to face anything that may come my way. So I would like to thank you for all the negative words that you used to try and discourage me because it gave me the motivation to go ahead and handle my business. So I have written this letter to let you know you fail at your attempt to stop me from succeeding. So once again thank you and I hope you cautious with everything that you do.
Always and forever,
Eugene Robinson
Letter to preventers of my success
First and foremost, I would like to thank you and honestly say that if it weren't for your negativity and will just to want to see me fail, I would not even be writing this letter and be the man I am today. I worked to the best of my ability to prove you wrong and on graduation day i stunned you all, and on signing day i killed your spirits. College is my next big step and there will be plenty of chances for you to try and bring me down, but just to warn you I'm three steps ahead of you already. I like to think in a different sense that you were my motivation and unknowingly you helped me more than you harmede me. Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Antonio Watkins
My Philosophy of Life
Growing up I believed that life was just time that is just spent on Earth. Life is taken for granted. People as well as my self, think that he or she are here alone and everyone is against them. As I get older I learn more and more each day. I learned life is what I make it and what I put into it. By saying that I mean that what ever my actions are I should be ready for my consequences. Many people try to figure life out, but I was once told, “You don’t figure out life but you take it.”
At times my perspective of life is messed up. I usually walk around with a serious face not talking much. I mainly stick to my self. I believe I am this way because I can not trust anyone. I hate to open up to people and let them in my mind. I rarely give my views on things unless I believe it is relevant and I need to speak on it. My whole life I have my mind set asking the question, “If someone doesn’t care about me, why should I care about them?” I base my whole life with that mentality. Many people classify me as a nonchalant person with not a care in the world and show no emotion. I figure why should I smile and be happy if I have nothing to be happy for. The only thing I am happy for is god waking me up every morning. I never even cared about myself. The things I use to do was not for me but for my family and people I cared for who I thought cared for me.
The hardest thing for me is to figure out why god placed me on this place called Earth. I really do not what to think about life; I just know that I am here. I believe at times I am here to play football. Going towards my senior year high school my life going downhill nothing was going my way, I even thought I was going to have to sit out my senior season because of a shoulder injury until my MRI results said I was good to play. At that point I took football serious and became one of the best linebackers that ever played for Ben. C.
In conclusion, I now know that life is not a pastime, but a gift. I realize everyone is here for a purpose but it is up to that person to find out what that purpose is. I spent seventeen years living life nonchalant without a care to save myself. I never even cared about my own well being. I would rather have other people happy than my self. I took a lot of speeches and introducing my self to older and wiser people to help me understand my life and the problems in it. My whole opinion on life has made a slight change, but there is still room for progress.

Student Section
Lucy Craft Laney Comprehensive High School was where I gained more musical talent. I joined the marching band my freshman year and became a Lucy C. Laney Marching Wildcat. Although my passion was music, other programs caught my attention. JROTC capture my attention. I joined the drill team and raider team in the JROTC program. I also became a member of VOCA, and Jobs for Georgia Graduates. I guess you can say I am a very diverse person. I had to manage my time, which was not easy to do, along with keeping up my grades. As my high school years went on, my lust for music grew. Playing instruments and reading sheet music sparked up an interest in me. I felt the need to pursue those feelings.
Tenth grade, my main focus was strictly on band and my grades. I began to work constantly on music. Eleventh grade, I was section leader for the woodwind section of the band, consisting of: two alto Saxes, three Clarinets, and one flute. My junior year was also the best and most challenging year. We had a new band director and all. This was also the year I joined the Georgia Army National guard. I enter the military as the rank of Private First Class due to my service in JROTC. All the training from the program paid off. The material I learn from it transitioned to basic training. All the training I received became multipurpose material. While in BCT, I learned a variety of new skills, such as: first aid, combat fighting, how to use military weapons, how to fold clothes military style, how to make a bed military style, how to eat and shower faster and a variety of life saving skills. By the end of my training, I had become a real soldier.
When my senior year came around, so many incidents and problems happened. Happily to say, I became trumpet section leader that year. Band season was very stressful though. So many members were undecided on whether or not to participate, plus occasions where the band director wanted to quite because of uncontrollable situations. Through all of the controversy, we all stuck together as a family, in which we were. Graduation was the happiest day of my life. Walking across the stage at the James Brown Arena in Downtown Augusta was the most proud moment in my life. Now I have entered into the college chapter in my life. Let’s see how the book ends.

2. My purpose in life........ Midan L. Green
There is a lot that I can say about what I want to be and do in life, but I have never really thought about my purpose in life. When I think about it I would say that my purpose in life would be to excel and achieve in everything that I pursue. There are so many things that I have always felt a calling, from a higher presence, to do, but I would always stop and think about what is in store for me further on down the road in my life. If I were to do these things I always dreamed about the turning event of my pursuits. What I view that my purpose would be is to bring a part of me to life that is greater and most influential than that of my relatives. I believe that my purpose is to give the world a greater perspective of my life.
I feel obligated at times to make a difference because of some of the people in my life and in the world, but some of those people never amount to their purpose in life. To be honest, who knows what their in life is? Why not do these circumstances present their selves to people? Why is the world such a jig-saw puzzle with tons of pieces missing? What I feel my purpose should be in life is to give back a sense of urgency to my people in wanting to be the greatest race there ever was, and to put an end to the things that bring us down.
I believe that I will stand tall above those who doubt me and the ambiguity that overcomes me as well. My purpose in life is not only to make my parents proud to call me their son, but to also prove to myself that I can make a difference in my family, and to keep it going with my own offspring someday. Although these are my thoughts on my purpose in life still seems unknown to me at this stage in my life, I will live up to the expectations of those who know I can make it, and I will pursue all my aspirations.

Academic Boot Camp
As an 11th grade English student of mine once wrote:
I am somebody! I will succeed! Because I am the latest and greatest model of the human species! And each year I can improve! Think about it! Think about your favorite car! Each and every year there is an upgraded model of your car. You know how they do it! They make it look better, go faster, upgrade the engine, and even the sound system! That’s us! We are the latest and greatest, perfect model of the human species and each year we can improve. And if we focus on that it will make us even more confident in fulfilling our goal!
LEADERSHIP is a basic need of mankind but any leader will not do. However, leadership is not just for people at the top. Everyone can learn to lead by discovering the power that lies within each one of us to make a difference and being prepared when the call to lead comes. To maximize our potential in a rapidly changing global economy, people recognize the need for leadership ethics more than ever before. Leadership is relevant to all aspects of life. Through leadership you can gain skills that will help you expand your perspective, set the context of a goal, understand the dynamics of human behavior and even take the initiative to get to where you want to be. There are many core qualities to leadership.
